What it is
A deck themed around campfire nostalgia and storytelling. The design process proved more demanding than anyone expected — iteration after iteration trying to land the right visual tone.
The deck also carries an animated flip effect built into the corner artwork: flames that appear to move when you riffle through the cards in any order. That solved a constraint most flipbook-style decks struggle with, where the animation only works in one direction.
How it was made
The Kickstarter funded within twelve hours, which said the concept resonated.
The surprise came afterwards, when Bicycle Playing Cards sent a letter: the designs were close enough to their iconic look that they had noticed. What could have been a legal problem became a collaboration instead. Bicycle worked with Vulpine on the final design, and the result was stronger than what Vulpine would have produced alone.
The deck did not ship alone. A twelve-video Bonfire Card Magic Course came with it, covering the deck, the gaff deck and the routines built for them.
